Bichons
These two bichons came from a breeder/puppy mill going out of business.  They are not housetrained, and will need a home that is willing to work them to be more social. Male is about 11 pounds and born 5/14/03 and female about 15 pounds 5/14/03.

Romeo   Miniature Pincher

Romeo was picked up as a stray.  He was in the shelter for several weeks but no one wanted him.  You see Romeo has a birth defect.  He has a very small (almost not there) lower jaw.  He still eats fine.  He is a lover.  He is housetrained.  He is a spunky playful dog.  Because of his deformed jaw he does make a strange little sound when he gets adopted.  Romeo does not droll because of his jaw.   His adoption fee is $75

Soomthie   Japanese Chin

Smoothie is a wonderful, friendly, outgoing girl. She was released to us from a breeder and is around 5 yrs old and 11 lbs. She loves to play with toys and is great with kids. You really can't ask for a friendlier little girl. She is learning some basic manners and housebreaking. She would be a great choice for a family that want s asmall dog that is still active that they can do things with.

Nacho  Chihuahua mix

Nacho is a chihuahua mixed with something not sure what - maybe rat terrier no idea.  Nacho is the last one of the litter to find a home she was born 10/23/09.  Mom is about 8 pounds.  So she might be around that full grown.  She is in a foster home with big dogs and small children and do just fine.  She is a very happy friendly puppy.   She is all wags and kisses.  She loves to play and run around.   Her mom was picked up as a stray and our rescue took her in.  We where getting ready to have her spayed when we realized she was pregnant.

Wow!  What a  personality this guy has, not only that he is very handsome.  He came to us as a breeder surrender.  He was very skinny and scared.  He is doing much better!  He will need a home that will give him plenty of excerise and love.  He will need work on basic obedience.
He around 2 years old.

Huck         Toy Fox Terrier

Huck is an adorable 5 month old toy fox terrier. He came to us from a breeder going out of business. He has not had much socialization so will need some time to adjust and get used to a new family.  He is a little shy with people even though he is very outgoing and loves to play with toys and other dogs.  He also loves to snuggle on a warm lap.  He is very underweight; therefore, very sensitive to the current cold weather.
Size: toy
Age:baby

Bandit   Cocker Spaniel

This happy go lucky guy was on death row in a Kansas shelter due to being tested positive for heartworms, with little time left he came to our rescue.  He has been sucessfully treated for heartworm and is now looking for a forever family.  He is an active guy.  He still needs work on basic obedience.  He is 2-3 years old. I'm a lovable Cocker Spaniel that likes nothing more than to be around people. I'm quiet, but not shy and I love to snuggle and receive attention from my humans. I tend to follow my humans around to see what they are up to. I'm highly motivated by food so you can train me pretty easily, and I like being around other dogs so that I can learn from them. I love to explore too, so you can sometimes find me sniffing out corners, shoes, and other nooks and cranny's. I'm house broken (mostly) and kennel trained, however I don't quite know yet how to tell my humans when I need to go out. My foster parents are working with me on this, but I'm a smart cookie so it shouldn't take me long. At my foster home I'm learning how to play with toys and have quickly found which items I can play with and chew on. I've still got puppy motives, but for the most part I'm well behaved. My foster family is also working on my kenneling at night as I tend to get anxious when I'm not around my humans.
My foster parents recommend me to a home that can provide at least 2 hours of attention per day... even if it's just petting me or letting me sit with you. And, a house with another dog is preferred, but not required. My new parents can choose to kennel me at night, however I would be on my best behavior if you let me sleep next to your bed on the floor. I also don't need a lot of room to run, so a large yard is not required to keep me happy.
Foster Parents: 'Bandit is a very sweet dog that shows no signs of dominance or aggression. He is very laid back and just likes to be pet. He's learned very quickly from our two dogs, and tends to adjust to new environments well. He's not highly active like most pups and is very well behaved. Besides his liking for facial tissue, we haven't had him get into anything he's not supposed to. He's a great choice for a single household or family that has the time to spend with a dog that will forever be loyal

Tisha          Yorkshire Terrier/Silky Terrier

Tisha came from a breeder who was going out of the business. She is very easy-going and can still be a little shy around new people. She is a great little girl would would be a great lap dog for a quiet home.  Tisha is kennel trained but not housetrained.  Please keep in mind that she has only been in a home environment since December.  Before that she spent years in a kennel.  She is 5 years old.  She is not a toy size dog she is about 8-9 pounds.

Korky     Corgi

Korky is a 6-year-old Red and white male Pembroke Welsh Corgi, big-boned and 40 pounds of solid dog.  He came from a breeding facility, is shy, but affectionate and loves to be around people. He gets along well with cats and other dogs. We don’t know how he acts around children. He is crate trained and leash trained. We are working on housebreaking since he was neutered. He is learning basic obedience commands like sit, down, stay and is very smart. He is a big teddy bear and would be a good addition to a home that understands Corgis and their temperament.

Sparkles    Chihuahua

Spakles is a sweetie.  She came from a breeder going out of business.  She is about 2years old.  All she wants is to be held and sit on a lap.  That is her whole goal in life.  She is not housetrained but at only about 5 pounds she does not make a big mess.  She is fine with other dogs while on the ground and will play with them in time.  Sparkles wants to be the center of the attention.  She will go potty outside but you will need to do it regularly for her to hang of it.  She wags her tail and dances around like crazy when you talk to her.  Just a sweet girl.

Butch                     Pekingese

Butch's owner died and he ended up in a local shelter. He was well groomed, trained and obviously loved but he was very unhappy in the shelter so we were asked to take him into foster care. After a couple days of looking for his owner, Butch has settled into his new foster home (which he likes much better than the shelter!). He loves people, kids, and gets along with other dogs. Now if only he could convince the cat to play with him! He's an absolute angel and very easy to love. He gets along with everyone so well, loves to play and run in the backyard, watches TV and is really no trouble at all. He does have dry eyes so needs medicine in his eyes at least twice a day which he holds still for and has no problem with. You really can't ask for a nicer, more easy-going, or happier dog. It's heartbreaking to think that he went from a loving home and ended up in a shelter. Butch is 8 years young, around 14 lbs, and deserves another chance at a loving home. He's awesome!

 Max    Corgi

Max is a 2-year-old Tri-colored male Pembroke Welsh Corgi.  He is affectionate and loves attention.  He was just neutered, and we are working on housebreaking.  Max. likes to go for walks and car rides, loves to be brushed and petted. He is learning basic obedience commands like sit, down, stay and is very smart.  He gets along with dogs, cats and older children. He would be a good addition to a home that understands Corgis and their temperament.  He needs someone that has the knowledge and is willing to spend the time to give him exercise, discipline and affection (in that order).

  Spike         Miniature Pinscher

Spike is a sweet boy.  He is about 18 months old.  He is housetrained and likes other dogs.  He does like to be around people like most minpins.  He loves to sleep undercovers and snuggle.  He will bark to let you know he needs to go outside.  Expect some accidents until he figures out your schedule.  He is in a foster home with a mom home all day so this does help with the housetaining.  He cannot go 8 hours without going.  He does sleep through the night.  He is learning the leash and doing good.  He has cropped ears and a cropped tail.  He is about 10 pounds

  Cheyenne      Siberian Husky

Cheyenne came to us as an owner surrender because they could no longer care for her. She is a very sweet girl.  She knows basic command sit, down, and walks very nicely on a leash.  She is an active girl so she will need a family that is commited to keeping her excerised.  She is house and kennel trained.  Please do your research prior to adopting.  Huskys do best with active families that give them a 'job' to do.

Bobby               Toy Fox Terrier

Bobby is a 5 year old toy fox terrier who came to us from a breeder. He is now neutered and enjoying his new life as a lap dog. He is very social and loves attention from anyone. He is VERY smart, affectionate and easy-going.  Although he is good with everyone including kids, he is only 5 lbs so older kids might be best. He had horrible teeth when he came to us and had almost all his teeth removed. He is doing fine but requires a diet of soft food. Bobby is still learning things about his new life including housebreaking so will need a patient home willing to work with him.

 Teagan      Corgi

Teagan is a 3-year-old Tri-colored male Pembroke Welsh Corgi, small-boned and about 20 pounds.  He appeared at a farm in the Nebraska sandhills and we were lucky enough to have him sent our way.  He is affectionate and loves to be around people. He is housebroken and crate trained and obviously has lived indoors. He gets along well with cats and other dogs. He likes to go for walks/runs and is very energetic outside. He loves car rides and falls asleep once the car is on the road.   He is learning basic obedience commands like sit, down, stay and is very smart. He is a very petite little guy and seems to have the drive and energy needed for Agility and/or Flyball.  Teagan would be a good addition to a home that understands Corgis and their temperament.

If you are interested in one of our dogs, either contact us with your questions or fill out an adoption form and e-mail it back to us.  We will then contact you.

Since we are NOT A SHELTER and all our dogs are in volunteer foster homes, we will put you in touch with the appropriate foster parent so you can find out more about the dog of interest and set up a visitation.

We do a home inspection before the adoption is final just to make sure the dog will be going to a safe and loving home.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. To help offset the medical care that they have received, a donation is requested at the time of adoption.
