Skipper Japanese Chin

Skip's dad passed away and his mom was losing the house so she had to surrender both Skip and his brother, Kingston. How sad. Skipper is 4 year old and on the bigger side (15 lbs). Skipper is housetrained, a great little gentleman and really easy-going. He likes to hang out with you on the couch and watch TV. He cuddles but isn't clingy. He's just a happy, content boy. Skip gets along well with other dogs and cats. If you are looking for a nice buddy to just hang out with you, Skip is the guy for you!

Emma Bulldog

Emma was used as a breeder dog prior to coming into rescue. She had alot of medical issues that have been taking care of,but she will still need a special home that will have time a patience to devote to her. She is not house trained and she does not walk well on a leash so a home with a fenced yard would be best. She would love a home where she could snuggle up on a comfy bed and just hang out.

Zeppo Brussels Griffon

Groucho, Harpo and Zeppo are 3 Brussels Griffons that came to us through another rescue group. They are around 9 months of age and just fun little dogs. They have had some socialization but still learning some basic training including housebreaking. Just like the breed type, they are all little clowns. Zeppo is the leader of the group. He is outgoing and loves to play. Zeppo is currently in a foster home where he gets to be at a doggie daycare during the day so he is getting lots of socialization! Zeppo would do best in a home that is patient, fun and willing to work on some training.

Penny Pug

Penny is a pretty playful girl around 4 years old. She came from a breeder going out of business. She is a lot of fun. She is working on housetraining. If you are looking for a buddy who wants to be with you she is your girl. And she is so much more huggable lovable in person.

Ranger Australian Cattle Dog Mix

Ranger came to us from an over crowded shelter in Missouri where his fate was uncertain. He is very active and will need a home that can provide excersise regularly. He is just over a 1 year old. More info to come soon.

Bell Catahoula Leapard Dog mix

Bell was rescued from an overcrowded shelter in Missouri just hours away from euthanasia. She is a young girl, 9-12 months, and around 40 lbs. She is currently in a foster home that has had catahoulas of their own and the fosters think she is a very smart girl. Bell very quickly learned how to ring a bell at the dog to be let outside :) She also quickly learned sit and shake. Bell is good with other smaller dogs and is in a home with papillion. Bell also liles to play and will carry toys or bones around in her mouth. Bell would be a great dog for someone who is willing to keep up with her training.

Max Miniature Pinscher

Max is very sweet timid chunky little boy. He is 5 years old. He was surrendered to us because he was not doing well with the new baby in the family. He would be best in home with kids over 10 years old. For a minpin he is timid so a house with not too many other dogs would be best. He is litter trained and kennel trained. He will also sleep in his kennel. He his nervous at first in a new setting but comes around after a few days. So patience is important. He also needs to lose a few pounds.

Chico Chihuahua

Chico is a sweet spunky quick little 6 pound ball of fun. He is about 2.5 years old. He is housetrained. He is a lap dog but he is also fast and loves go. A busy house would be fine for him. He is great with kids. Chico likes to know what is going on. He is not much of a barker unless something is outside and he is alarting you. He needs a secure yard or someone willing to take him on a leash outside.

Yoshi       Japanese Chin

Yoshi is a sweet little boy around 5 years old. He is pretty easy going and loves other dogs. He is a new little guy into rescue so still learning about his personality.

Rufio       Corgi Mix

This cute guy looks just like a black corgi with a tail! He was found as a stray and taken to a high kill shelter in West Plains MO. When no one came for him and his time was up, we took him into rescue. He is a very loving and social dog. Rufio interacts very well with every person and dog he has come in contact with but is most content following one person where ever they go. He seems to have a good deal of energy in the morning and then after 7pm enjoys just laying by your feet. Rufio does very well in his crate overnight and seems to be house broken.

Solo Japanese Chin

Rex, Solo and Sid came from a local humane society. The person who owned them could no longer take care of them. They were very scared in the shelter so they asked if we could take them into rescue. Solo is the youngest of the bunch at a little over 1 year. He has a gorgeous coat and beautiful face. He is on the bigger side for the breed but very handsome. Solo loves other dogs and think cats are nice too. With women, he will love on them, play and be a complete sweetheart but he is terrified of men! His foster home is working on his fear of men and he is getting better with his foster dad but he has a long road ahead before he will trust a strange man. Solo would do best is an easy-going household with other animals and a patient, positive woman will to continue his training.

Rex Japanese Chin

Rex, Solo and Sid came from a local humane society. The person who owned them could no longer take care of them. They were very scared in the shelter so they asked if we could take them into rescue. Rex is approximately 2 years old. He is one of the biggest Japanese chins (over 16 lbs) so we call him a 'Chinasaurus Rex' :) He likes to be with you but is shy when you first meet him. Rex loves other dogs and think cats are pretty neat. He knew some things when he came to us but we are working on his continued socialization. Rex would do best is an easy-going household with other animals and a patient, positive person will to continue his training.

Francine French Bulldog

Francine-blonde 4 yr old frenchie. Extremely wonderful happy personality. Kennel trained, house trained with supervision. Loves to play with nylabones and rope toys. Loves other dogs, loves to chase cats (doesn't hurt them but likes to goober them) does have some allergies but medicated shampoos are all that is needed at this time. And she is diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia and luxating patellas but surprisingly neither cause her problems!! A daily joint supplement and keeping her fit and trim will be helpful for her in the future. She loves to run, play and get excited. Oh yeah.....and she snores VERY loudly!!

Max Labrador/German Shepherd mix

Max has quite a story. He has been in and out of shelters for the past year and has been treated for heartworms and diagnosed with Hypothyroid. He has a clean bill of health and is on medications twice a day to treat his hypothyroid. The medication is relatively cheap, and he is very good about taking it. He is a happy guy that need excersise regularly. He will need work on some basic manner but he has been cooped up in a kennel for 4 months so lots of his energy is just due to that. He does well with dogs his size but I would not reccommend him with smaller dogs. He is kennel trained and seems to be house trained. He is approximately 4-5 years old. He would love a forever home so he doesn't have to be bounced around anymore.


Breezy     Yellow Lab mix


Breezy is a happy go lucky busy puppy. She is approximately 7 months old. She has had some obedience training and knows sit, down, and stay for short periods of time. She is house trained, and get along with other dogs, cats, and kids. She will need an active home to keep her happy.
UPDATE: Breezy is currently at a youth detention facility participating in their prison dog program. The goal is to have the innmates train the dog to complete the Canine Good Citizen test with weekly training classes. We wish both Breezy and her handler the best of luck!

Chester    Japanese Chin


Chester is a 4 year old neutered male Japanese Chin. He has the sweetest face with a slight underbite (we think it gives him more character!). Chester had a rough early life and did not get the best care but it has not influenced his personality. he is very sweet and loves attention and we think appreciates the fact that he was rescued! Chester gets along well with other dogs. He is housebroken. He sleeps in a dog bed and is crated when his foster family is not at home. He is a really good dog who would love a family that would adore him.



  Boaz   Border Collie/Aussie Shep mix

Boaz is a happy go lucky guy. He is appoximatley 1 year old and still very much a puppy. He is shy when he first meets you but once he gets to know you he is a lover. He very busy and likes to play and will need a home that keep him excersised and stimulated. He gets along well with other dogs very well. He is kenneled trained and is doing very well with house training.

  Gordon      Basset Hound

Gordon is so sweet, gentle, and nice. He is about 3 years old and is a very sweet boy who gets along great with other dogs. He is housebroken. He really is one of the sweetest bassets we've ever had in rescue. He would be a great choice for any family that is familiar with the breed.

Izzy   Shih Tzu


Izzy is a sweet little guy that the family has decided surrender to find a better home where people are around more. He is house trained but needs to be let out every few hours. He does not do well in a kennel it makes him very nervous. He does not like thunderstorms. He is pretty laid back guy, and would make a wonderful pet for someone that was retired. He is approximately 10 years old. He was just recently groomed.

If you are interested in one of our dogs, either contact us with your questions or fill out an adoption form and e-mail it back to us. We will then contact you.

Since we are NOT A SHELTER and all our dogs are in volunteer foster homes, we will put you in touch with the appropriate foster parent so you can find out more about the dog of interest and set up a visitation.

We do a home inspection before the adoption is final just to make sure the dog will be going to a safe and loving home.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. To help offset the medical care that they have received, a donation is requested at the time of adoption.
